Background

Julie’s love of the law and litigation is long-standing. She was a solicitor for 18 years and a partner at King & Wood Mallesons from 2007 to 2013. The Bar called to her for many years, and finally she had to say yes.

Julie is recognised by her peers as a leading lawyer, both as a solicitor and a barrister, and by publications such as Chambers & Partners, Doyle’s Guide and the Australian Financial Review’s Best Lawyers. Julie is listed as a Leading Junior Counsel for Construction Law in Australia in the Doyle’s Guide 2017.

She is also a practising arbitrator with the Resolution Institute (formerly IAMA).

Her approach to working with solicitors and clients is to work collaboratively with people whom she likes and respects, to achieve the best resolution.

She most enjoys working with teams of talented solicitors, and undertaking complex problem solving.

From 2007 to 2012, Julie lectured an undergraduate course in Contract Formation & Management at the University of Sydney, where she was an adjunct associate professor.
